The Greater East Dallas Chamber of Commerce presented a lively panel discussion with culinary experts at a luncheon on June 21 at BarNone in Lake Highlands. The program “East Dallas Culinary Scene and How it Creates a Community” was a sellout and had an overflow crowd. The Chamber’s Live Local East Dallas (LLED) committee planned the program, selecting individuals who contribute to the vibrancy that characterizes the East Dallas food scene. 

The discussion was moderated by Chamber member Chuck Kobdish. Featured panelists were Corey Mobley, Executive Director, Texas Restaurant Association, North Texas Region; Brian Reinhart, D Magazine Dining Critic; Casey Cutler, Executive Director of Good Local Markets; and John McBride, Owner of El Vecino Tex Mex. 

“The Chamber knocked it pout of the park with a thoughtful and engaging discussion among an all-star panel,” said Kobdish. “The foodie scene in East Dallas is thriving which is great for business and great for the community.” 

LLED works to promote and support the local East Dallas small business owners with special projects and by hosting two monthly networking events open to Chamber members and guests. The Rise & Shine Networking Breakfast is held the second Tuesday of each month at Dream Café and a Happy Hour Business Networking at White Rock Alehouse every fourth Tuesday. LLED’s next event is planned for September and will feature the businesses at Hillside Village.
