Event Co-Chairs Emily Maduro and Susan Fisk with Women’s Council President Renee Querbes Farren and dinner hostess Diane Sealy.
A full moon was shining for Moonlight and Magnolias, a new event held on February 25 to benefit the Women’s Council of the Dallas Arboretum. It was an evening of fine food and wine, camaradie with fellow supporters of the Women’s Council and the fun of discovery – which home and with which friends!
The first-time event was chaired by Susan Fisk and Emily Maduro. Renee Querbes Farren is the Women’s Council President.
Guests gathered at a beautiful Dallas mansion for wine and hors d’oeuvres. Special invitations were handed out to each couple and the surprise was in learning which elegant home was designated for their seated dinner and which guests would be attending with them. Each home was limited to 10-12 guests making it an exclusive evening for all.
The food and wine were donated by generous sponsors allowing full proceeds raised from the evening to benefit the development of The Boxwood Niche, the newest expansion within A Woman’s Garden.
The dinners were generously underwritten by Gil's Elegant Catering, Wendy Krispin Caterer and Spice of Life. The wine for the evening was donated by Glazer’s and a board member of the Women’s Council.
Since 1986, the major goal of the Women’s Council has been the design, construction, funding and endowment of A Woman’s Garden, the only public garden in the nation conceived by women, funded by the efforts of women and dedicated to the spirit of women. The support of over 600 members of the Women’s Council make possible the continued expansion and improvement of A Woman’s Garden.
