Texans Can Academy - Dallas’ Annual Cares for Kids Golf Classic Hits a Hole in One

Dallas Golf Classic benefited open-enrollment dropout recovery high school students

DALLAS – December 17, 2018 – Texans Can Academy recently hosted its annual Texans Can Academy - Dallas Cares for Kids Golf Classic at The Clubs Of Prestonwood - The Hills Country Club. All proceeds contributed to college and career readiness programming for students at Texans Can Academies in the Dallas area. Businesses and community members got a chance to enjoy 18-holes of golf, while also contributing to the non-profit organization that is dedicated to helping students obtain their high school diploma without worrying about basic needs such as food, clothes, eyeglasses, hygiene products and more.

Sponsors for this year’s tournament included Texas Mutual Insurance Company, David Miller Foundation, Aimbridge Hospitality, Tito’s Vodka and Summit Financial Group. Sponsorships supported the empowerment of over 2,000 students continuing to fight through adversities in Dallas. The tournament began with a shotgun start, where all players teed off simultaneously. After the tournament, winners were announced for various competitions throughout the tournament and a buffet dinner was provided.

“The Texans Can Academy - Dallas Cares for Kids Golf Classic is an important fundraising event for our Dallas area campuses,” said Richard Marquez, president and CEO of Texans Can Academies. “We are humbled by the support of our sponsors and participants and look forward to the excitement the annual event gathers each year.”
