Two Texans Can Academy campuses will host a Winter Coat Drive for students in need and their families from December 10-17, 2018. The coat drives will be at the Texans Can Academy - Dallas Oak Cliff and Dallas Ross Avenue campuses.

Beginning December 10th, the schools will have large boxes placed in each foyer area for employees and community members to donate new or gently worn winter coats for students in need and their families. Texans Can Academies is committed to ensuring students have the opportunity to pursue their dreams while removing barriers that keep them from attaining their education, including basic needs such as warm clothing during the winter months.

“We take a holistic approach to helping our students learn,” said Richard Marquez, CEO and president of Texans Can Academies. “We know that if they don’t have warm clothing to wear to school it is more likely they won’t leave home to get to school.  We also just don’t want our kids to be cold. We want them to come to school ready to learn and not worrying about basic needs like a coat to keep them warm. We look forward to the coat drive and are very grateful for the donations and support from our employees and the community.”

Winter coats can be dropped off from 9-11 a.m. and 1-3 p.m. daily at the following locations:

  • Texans Can Academy - Dallas Oak Cliff campus, 325 W. 12th Street, Dallas, TX 75208
  • Texans Can Academy - Ross Avenue campus, 4621 Ross Avenue, Dallas, TX 75204
