Texans Can Academy - Dallas Grant East Girls Baske

Texans Can Academy - Dallas Grant East’s girls junior varsity basketball team will take on their division’s quarterfinal game Thursday, January 30, 2020 at 7:00 p.m. at Duncanville Fieldhouse, 1700 S. Main St., in Duncanville. The team enters the game with an undefeated record in the Texas Charter School Academic & Athletic League for girls junior varsity basketball. They have won three pre-season games and eight regular season games, giving them an 11-0 record. 

The team is coached by Texans Can Academy - Dallas Grant East teachers, Marci Randle and Jamie Betts.

The top two teams from each division will compete in a single-elimination format tournament to determine the North Texas Regional Champion. If the team wins the quarterfinal game on Thursday, they will play for the semifinal game on February 1st at 11:30 a.m. at Fellowship Collegiate Academy, 1821 W. Camp Wisdom Rd., in Dallas. The championship game then follows at 4:45 p.m on February 1st at Fellowship Collegiate Academy.

Texans Can Academies are a unique network of 14 dropout recovery schools located in Austin, Dallas, Fort Worth, Houston and San Antonio. The schools are tuition-free, open enrollment, public high schools of choice serving students who have struggled in a traditional high school setting. Texans Can Academies offers students, aged 14 to 21, a second chance at earning their high school diploma instead of a General Education Development (GED).
