Texans Can Academies Students Experience Dallas Mavericks Game in Style

On Wednesday, March 11, 2020 a group of students and faculty from the Oak Cliff and Dallas North campuses of Texans Can Academies attended a Dallas Mavericks game.  The group traveled to the American Airlines Center and watched the game from a suite and other great seats in the venue.

Felicia Gummi, Development Director at Texans Can Academies - Dallas says that this experience was a first for many of the students that attended. They received a buffet style dinner in the suite and had a great view of the playing action.  Students sported their favorite Mavericks gear as they cheered the Mavs to victory over the Nuggets 113-97.

Texans Can Academies offers students, aged 14 to 21, a second chance at earning their high school diploma instead of a General Education Development (GED). Texans Can Academies are a unique network of 14 charter schools located in Austin, Dallas, Fort Worth, Houston and San Antonio. The schools are tuition-free, open enrollment, public high schools of choice serving students who have struggled in a traditional high school setting.
