Texans Can Academies is offering hope to their students and their families that have lost belongings in the recent tornado. Families needing assistance are invited to shop at the Texans Can - Cars for Kids Thrift Store at no cost.

The Cars for Kids Thrift Store will offer necessities like clothing and household goods to any family needing assistance after the tornado. Enrolled students who have been displaced are encouraged to contact their school for more information or come to the Thrift Store with their student identificaiton to shop for clothes and small household goods.     

“We can’t imagine what our North Texas neighbors are going through as they try to recover from such devastating loss,” said Richard Marquez, CEO and president of Texans Can Academies. “We know that children in these situations are affected more than we understand and we want to offer assistance anyway that we can to help families stabilize as much as possible. We want to do what we can to give hope to our students and their familiies to help them recover from their losses.”

The Cars for Kids Thrift Store opened earlier this year, offering low discounts on high-end items donated by five regular estate sale companies in the North Texas area. The charity-run store contains a large variety of items to shop from, including furniture, appliances, name-brand clothing, china, crystal, everyday glassware,serving dishes, games and more. All proceeds benefit the students enrolled at Texans Can Academies.

Thrift store hours are Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Saturday from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. The store is located at 7100 Marvin D. Love Freeway, Dallas, TX 75237.

Texans Can Academies offers students an opportunity to pursue their dreams while removing barriers to attaining their education. Money raised from the thrift store provides students with the education and skills they need to build a promising future.
