Five female students at Texans Can Academy – Garland Can were introduced to the business world in style after attending the Dress for Success field trip.

The young women were presented the art of styling their outfits as business professionals, allowing them exposure to a career preparation experience prior to high school graduation. The students were able to take home a necklace and a personalized suit provided by Dress for Success.

Dress for Success is an international non-profit organization that empowers women to achieve economic independence by providing a network for future young professionals, professional attire and the developmental tools to help young women thrive in work and in life. The organization has 140 facilities around the nation.

Texans Can Academies, a unique network of 13 schools across the state of Texas that are tuition-free, open enrollment public high schools of choice, and designed to welcome students of all walks of life. To date, more that 141,120 students have changed their lives through Texans Can Academies.

The high schools present students the opportunity to remove barriers that keep them from attaining their education to further pursue their dreams and scholastic integrity. The schools offer many personal services, such as eyeglasses, career preparation, immunizations and other basic human necessities.
