Sheraton Dallas introduces their summer barbecue series, Mastering The Art Of Smoking Meats, with award winning Chef Zeb, a three-part event series featuring demonstrations by the hotel’s executive chef on how to prepare different types of meat and seafood for barbecues. The three events will take place in July, which happens to be National Grilling Month.

The first event will be held on Friday, July 16, and the two others will take place on the following Fridays, July 23 and July 30, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. The Mastering The Art Of Smoking Meats events will take place in the hotel’s outdoor garden, Herb ‘N Jungle. Sheraton Dallas is located at 400 North Olive Street in downtown Dallas. The Herb ‘N Jungle garden is located on the hotel’s 4th floor terrace with fantastic views of the surrounding downtown Dallas buildings. Guests can access the event space by the North or Center Tower elevators to the 4th floor.

During each event, the hotel’s executive chef, Zeb Hartline, will provide a demonstration with tips and tricks for preparing different types of meat and seafood for a barbecue. After the demonstration, there will be a reception with live music and the demonstrated food will be served to those in attendance along with two appetizers and a specialty cocktail, beer and wine. Each event will demonstrate a different type of meat or seafood.

Hartline earned his degree at Le Cordon Bleu Culinary Academy in Orlando. Growing up on a 67-acre produce farm in southwestern Michigan, Hartline initially learned to cook farm-to-table making jams, juices, pickles and preserves.

The Herb ‘N Jungle garden at Sheraton Dallas Hotel was built by the chefs at the hotel where fruits, vegetables and herbs are grown. Different herbs and ingredients from the garden are used in the chef’s dishes and cocktails served at the hotel’s signature restaurant and bar, Open Palette. The garden also features murals painted by Dallas-based artist Falk Houben.

Sheraton Dallas Hotel is the largest hotel in North Texas with 1,841 guest rooms and 230,000 square feet of flexible meeting and convention space and is located in Downtown Dallas, right off the DART Pearl/Arts District station.
