Woodland Cottages Sherman, a new 55+ active adult community, will celebrate its grand opening on Thursday, Aug. 13, at 3306 W. Houston St. in Sherman.

The gated, pet-friendly community features 84 one- and two-bedroom cottages designed to offer active adults the privacy and comfort of a single-family home with the convenience of maintenance-free community living. Residents can enjoy amenities including a clubhouse, fitness center, swimming pool, pickleball court and a full calendar of social activities.

The grand opening will begin with a Tri-Chamber ribbon cutting featuring the Sherman, Denison and Pottsboro Area Chambers of Commerce at 3 p.m., followed by an open house from 3:30 to 5 p.m. Guests are invited to tour the community, meet the development team and enjoy complimentary food and beverages.
