Woodland Cottages is now open in Sherman, bringing a new maintenance-free living option for adults 55 and older to the Texoma region.

Developed by Carbon Shepherd Development, the gated active adult community at 3306 W. Houston St. celebrated its grand opening Aug. 13 with a Tri-Chamber ribbon cutting alongside the Sherman, Denison and Pottsboro Area Chambers of Commerce.

The community features one- and two-bedroom homes with attached garages, zero-threshold showers and select fenced backyards. Amenities include a clubhouse, fitness center, swimming pool, pickleball court and a calendar of social events.

Prospective residents can now tour the community and explore available homes.
