Just Say YES, a nonprofit organization devoted to equipping youth to succeed, is hosting their annual Just Say YES celebration on Tuesday, April 12 at 7:00 p.m. The celebration, which helps the organization to equip teens, train leaders and empower parents, will be held in the Preston Hollow home of Lisa and Kenny Troutt. Chef Richard Chamberlain will be catering the event.  The proceeds from the fundraiser support the nonprofit’s goal to provide resources that empower students to say YES to their dreams and goals and no to destructive choices. 

This year’s featured speaker will be a Texas living legend, Dallas Cowboys Quarterback Tony Romo. After two seasons with the Dallas Cowboys as a holder, Romo replaced the Cowboys' previous starting quarterback, Drew Bledsoe, during a game against the New York Giants in the 2006 season. Romo was a Pro Bowl selection for the 2006, 2007, 2009 and 2014 seasons, all seasons in which the Dallas Cowboys made the playoffs. He has also broken Dallas Cowboys team records for most games with at least 300 passing yards and games with three or more touchdown passes.

The 2016 Honorary Celebration chairs are Gena and Chuck Norris and immediate past chairs are Sue and Jim Gragg. Sue Gragg Precious Jewels has generously donated an exquisite gold diamond- encrusted cross pendant valued at $6,500 to be auctioned to raise money for the organization along with some surprise auction items. An authentic Dallas Cowboys #9 Tony Romo autographed jersey will be raffled during the event. Tickets for the jersey may be purchased online now through the day of the celebration and the winner does not have to be present at the celebration to win.

Highlighting the important work of Just Say YES (JSY), the celebration will also feature 20 of the nonprofit organization’s STARS Peer-To-Peer Mentor students. JSY partners with schools, catalyzing their efforts to educate and shape successful students. JSY provides speakers, peer-to-peer mentoring and other resources to enable at-risk students to overcome barriers in their lives and excel inside and outside of the classroom. 

During the celebration, Dan Bailey, President and Founder of Just Say YES, will update current partners about the future goals of the organization and describe new developments from the past year. He will also highlight programs and speakers that have seen particular success in participating school districts.
