Preschoolers from Wee Can Academy, the early childhood development center for Dallas Can Academies, celebrated Read Across America Day with a visit to Texans Can Academies’ corporate offices for story time with Richard Marquez, Texans Can Academies CEO and president.

Mr. Marquez read Dr. Seuss books to the visiting children, who were wearing red and white striped “Cat in the Hat” hats they made in their classrooms. Read Across America Day is celebrated annually on March 2, which is also Dr. Seuss’ birthday. The children of Wee Can Academy celebrated with a Dr. Seuss themed day including crafts, outfits and reading time.

Richard Marquez believes learning to read and reason are the most important ingredients to a child’s education.  He often tells his schools’ teachers, “If children are given the tools to succeed, especially in reading, then they will be able to lead successful and enriching lives.”
