DALLAS, TX – On October 28, 2024, Council for Life celebrated A Revolution for Life with Pastor Greg Laurie and musical artist Ellie Holcomb. More than 1,600 guests filled the Trinity Ballroom — the largest Luncheon gathering ever at the Hilton Anatole Hotel. Council for Life was thrilled to recognize Laura and Scott Luttrell, philanthropic leaders in the Dallas community dedicated to the cause of Life, as this year’s Luncheon Honorary Chairs.
Luncheon Chairs Antoinette Davis and Elizabeth Tamlyn created a beautiful experience, showcasing the heart of God for preborn babies and their mothers. Inspiring tributes to Council for Life’s Beneficiaries lined the entry hall to the ballroom.
“We are immensely grateful to our exceptional Honorary Chairs, Luncheon Chairs and Board Chair Rebecca Lutz for their generosity, leadership and vision for the Luncheon.” stated CFL Executive Director Lee Anne Morris.
Council for Life raised record funds for their 26 outstanding 2024 Beneficiaries thanks to the profound generosity of their Luncheon guests and matching grants from The Lunsford Foundation and an Anonymous Donor.
Council for Life will award an unprecedented $1.5 million in grants to support the lifesaving work of their Beneficiaries. These heroic agencies provide vital, compassionate care to vulnerable babies, mothers, fathers and families in North Texas. (See the list of 2024 Council for Life Beneficiaries here.)
Pastor Greg Laurie opened his remarks by sharing that the life issue “is personal to me. I could have been an abortion statistic,” Laurie said. “I was not planned by my mother; my life was planned by God.”
The room fell silent as Pastor Laurie recounted the devastating loss of his son in a car accident sixteen years ago. With raw vulnerability, he shared how his faith sustained him through the pain. “Take the life and resources that God has given to you and use them for His glory,” he urged.
Pastor Laurie closed by leading the audience in a powerful prayer to accept and commit themselves to Jesus Christ.
Ellie Holcomb moved the audience with her stirring performances of “Where Can I Go”, “Sing” and “I Don’t Want to Miss It”. Guests enjoyed a post-Luncheon Reception that included a book and album signing by Ellie.
