Emcee: Amy Vanderoef of Good Morning Texas

The Samaritan Inn, Collin County’s largest residential homeless program, is pleased to announce our third annual Fashion Show & Tea on Saturday, April 20, sponsored by Emerson Process Management of McKinney. The emcee for this year’s event is Amy Vanderoef, a correspondent for Good Morning Texas since 2006.

The annual event is an important fundraiser for The Samaritan Inn and helps support the many programs of the Inn and its residents.

“Community participation in this event enables us to continue to serve the hundreds of women and children who live at The Samaritan Inn and are diligently working to regain their independence,” said Lynne Sipiora, Executive Director for the Inn.

The Samaritan Inn is home to 160 people experiencing homelessness, one-third of whom are children. For every dollar donated to the Inn, 90 cents goes directly to shelter, food, clothing, counseling and life skills classes. The mission of the Inn’s program is to help people regain their dignity and return to independence within the community. The program has been very successful, with over 72 percent of their residents “graduating” and returning as active members of the community.

“It is a privilege for me to be able to incorporate the Hearts of Hope community service program of F.A.I.T.H. Jewelry with The Samaritan Inn's annual Fashion Show," said Cheryl Massey, Chairperson for the event. "We are all here as a team of loving and caring community members to honor the mothers and children of The Samaritan Inn and to make sure they know that they have our support toward a better tomorrow.”

The Fashion Show & Tea will be held at Eldorado Country Club, 2604 Country Club Drive, McKinney, TX. Festivities will begin at 2 p.m. The event will feature high tea with delicious finger foods, a fabulous runway show with local celebrities modeling the finest fashions from INN Style Resale Store and accessories by F.A.I.T.H. Jewelry, and a silent auction.

Apparel and jewelry featured in the runway show will be available for purchase in a special boutique, including a large selection of formal gowns and prom dresses, valued at over $200 each, on sale for only $20 each. There will also be an amazing collection of handmade collectible teapots, which are valued up to $400 each.

Tickets are $50 for adults, $25 for children under 12. Seating is limited and tickets are going fast so reserve your seats now. Tickets will also be available at the door on the day of the event for $75. Sponsorships at all levels are still available.
