Highland Park vs. Frisco Liberty Senior quarterback Brady Burgin throws a pass before getting sacked.

Highland Park made a statement during its 50-7 win over the Frisco Liberty Redhawks in the first round of the playoffs on Friday at Kimbrough Stadium in Murphy, Texas.

The Scots maintained a balanced offensive attack during the game by running and passing the ball 32 times each. The team amassed a total of 371 yards on offense with 106 rushing yards and 265 passing yards.

But the offensive performance wasn't the team's only strong point during the game; Highland Park's defense only allowed the Redhawks to complete 30 offensive yards during the first half.

Scots quarterback Brady Burgin helped lead the team to victory by completing 21 of 30 passing attempts for 244 yards.

Highland Park senior running back Preston Miller had 56 rushing yards on 16 attempts and caught six passes for 50 yards on offense.

Scots senior wide receiver William Morris also had a big game, catching seven passes for 114 offensive yards.

Highland Park (11-0) will be playing Woodrow Wilson (10-1) in the second round of the playoffs at 7:30 p.m. this coming Friday at Richardson's Wildcat-Ram Stadium at Lake Highlands High School.
