University Park's document shredding/e-waste event will take place from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the HPMS parking lot.
Do you have documents or a computer that you need to dispose of safely? If so, you are in luck because the City of University Park is having a document shredding and e-waste disposal event this weekend.
From 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, two firms will be in the Highland Park Middle School parking lot to collect and dispose of local residents' sensitive items safely and for free.
Here is a list of items that can be disposed of at the event, according to University Park's website:
DOCUMENTS
- Any documents containing credit card, social security, driver license and account numbers
- Blueprints
- Canceled checks
- Company letterhead
- Contracts
- Financial records
- Invoices
- Junk mail containing personal information
- Legal files
- Medical records
- Payroll records
- Tax records
E-WASTE
- Computers/laptops, computer monitors, computer speakers, keyboards, mice
- PDAs and cellphones
- Power supplies, printers, fax machines, scanners
- TVs and VCRs
Greenstar Recycling will be in the parking lot to dispose of paper documents, as will Universal Recycling Technologies for all of the e-waste items.
