Highland Park High School was filled with about 750 alumni who gathered to reunite and celebrate their alma mater during a reunion luncheon on Saturday.
The HPHS alumni association hosted the Golden Scots Reunion, which honored the class of 1961 on the 50th anniversary of its graduation, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Sept. 24 in the school's cafetorium.
All HPHS alumni who graduated in 1961 or before were invited to attend the luncheon. At the event, current HPHS students gave alumni tours of the high school to show how it has changed throughout the years. Also, several speakers addressed the crowd during the luncheon, including HPISD Superintendent Dawson Orr and HPHS Principal Walter Kelly.
Congrats to the class of 1961 for reaching the 50-year milestone!
