HPHS vs. Rockwall High School Varsity Football Head Coach Randy Allen signals to the team.

The Highland Park High School varsity football team kept its winning streak alive after beating the Rockwall High School Yellowjackets by a score of 56-31 on Friday night at Rockwall Stadium.

The Scots had 273 passing yards and 352 rushing yards against the Yellowjackets for a total of 625 yards on offense.

Quarterback Brady Burgin completed 18 of 29 passing attempts with no interceptions and had one rushing and one passing touchdown.

Running back Preston Miller had 25 carries for 269 yards and four touchdowns. Also, defensive back Mark Gottsacker forced the only turnover in the game with an interception during the second quarter.

The Scots varsity football team now has a 4-0 record for the season and is 1-0 in District 10-4A.

Highland Park's next game is against Wylie East at 7:30 p.m. on Sept. 30 at Highlander Stadium.
