The Highland Park High School varsity football team is now ranked No. 5 in the state of Texas and No. 2 in the DFW area in Class 4A after its victory over Wylie East High School on Friday at Highlander Stadium.

Senior quarterback Brady Burgin led the Scots to its 58-30 victory over the previously undefeated Raiders.

Burgin completed 24 of 33 passing attempts for 353 yards and five touchdowns. He is currently an area top 50 college prospect for his position.

The Scots amassed 133 rushing yards on 23 carries, which was led by senior running back Preston Miller who completed over half of the yards on the ground.

Senior wide receiver William Morris also had a big game, catching 7 passes for 121 yards.

Highland Park's next game is at Wylie High School at 7:30 p.m. on Oct. 7.
