The Lady Scots varsity basketball team secured a spot in the playoffs after beating the McKinney Lionettes by a score of 48-45 on Tuesday night at McKinney High School.

During the game, Highland Park junior Kaitlyn Read scored 21 points for the team, which helped the Lady Scots beat the Lionettes.

The Lady Scots (22-7, 10-4) will be playing Frisco Heritage at 7 p.m. Monday at Plano Senior High School in a UIL bi-district playoff game.
