The Lady Scots varsity basketball team soundly beat the Rockwall-Heath Lady Hawks by a score of 71-27 on Friday in the HPHS main gym, and it was Highland Park's Senior Night game.

Libby Ethington led the Lady Scots in scoring with 12 points and was followed by Kaitlyn Read, Courtney Klingaman and Amanda Goodwin with 11 points each; Alex Reynolds with seven points; Savanna Taylor and Sydney McDaniel with five points each; Sara Johnson with three points; and Holly Lacour, Sarah Werner and Laura Edwards with two points each.

During the game, Highland Park held Rockwall-Heath scoreless in the first quarter and did not allow them to score a point until 6:27 were left in the second quarter.

The Lady Scots (21-7, 9-4) are currently in a three-way tie for second place in the district with McKinney North and Wylie. Highland Park will be playing its final regular-season game of the year against McKinney at 7:30 p.m. tonight at McKinney High School, which is a critical game for the Lady Scots in regard to qualifying for the UIL State Tournament.
