HP vs. Little Rock Parkview The referee gets ready to toss the ball into the air for the tipoff.

Highland Park's Lady Scots varsity basketball team soundly beat Richardson Berkner 68-47 and Conrad 51-32 in the first two rounds of the DISD Coca Cola Tournament, but were unable to overcome Little Rock Parkview and lost a heart breaker in the third match by a score of 51-55.

The tournament was hosted from Dec. 27-29.

Despite the loss, four Lady Scots scored in the double-digits during the game, including Amanda Goodwin with 15 points, Kaitlyn Read with 14 points, Haylee Anigian-Rios with 11 points and Sydney McDaniel with 10 points.

The Lady Scots varsity team now has an overall record of 14-4 for the season and is 2-1 in district games. The squad's next game is against district foe Richardson Pearce at 7:30 p.m. Jan. 3 in Richardson.
