HP vs. Wylie East (Varsity) Highland Park's Amanda Goodwin guards a Wylie East player.

The Lady Scots varsity basketball squad trounced Wylie East by a score of 63-44 on the road Friday night, wrapping up an undefeated day of games for Highland Park's girls basketball teams.

During the varsity matchup, Kaitlyn Read led the Lady Scots in scoring with 19 points, and she was followed by Sydney McDaniel with 11 points, Alex Reynolds with 8 points and Courtney Klingaman with 7 points.

Highland Park's varsity girls squad (17-7, 5-4) will be playing Wylie at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday in the HPHS main gym, which is an important game because the team is one win away from qualifying for the state UIL tournament.
