Mad for Plaid makes a difference! Gifts from alumni, parents, grandparents, community members, HPISD employees and friends have financially supported teachers’ salaries and campus needs to benefit every student in our schools, from kindergarten through graduation. Once again, we are asking for your support in to provide the quality in education that our children deserve and our community expects.
Ensuring the quality of our schools is our first priority, and our teachers are the key to success in the classroom. It is vital to:
- Attract and retain the best teachers available
- Expand our teaching staff to offer new programs and maintain reduced class sizes
- Ensure that our teachers have the most up to date and advanced training and tools available
Mad for Plaid serves current critical needs at our schools, such as:
- Basics in the classroom - paper, copier leases, light bulbs, and toner
- District-wide programs benefiting all K-12 students - the New Jersey Writing Project, curriculum development, the Math and Science Initiative, and the Literacy Program
- Technology - Funds to update and uniformly equip our classrooms with the technology vital to engaging our children in the learning process
"Robin Hood" legislation is still in effect; the school district retains only 28% of the school tax dollars collected each year. Your investment in Mad for Plaid assists in fulfilling our educational expectations for our schools and helps keep our property values strong.
