Darnell Renee is an international photographer, who commutes between her home in Corona Del Mar, California, and Dallas Texas. She began her career as a Texas-based photojournalist, where she has photographed for nearly 20 years. She now travels frequently between Dallas, Austin, TX and Southern California for work, family, friends, and home. Her work has been featured in U.S News, USA Today, Women’s World, D Weddings, along with other national publications, and appeared regularly in the Dallas Morning News for 14 years.
Darnell started photographing weddings over 15 years ago, after a fellow photojournalist saw her work and commented that her style captured the personalities of the people she photographed with a personal flair. In addition to her wedding, editorial photography, and creative portraiture, she now travels regularly for her work, and occasionally shooting an international wedding or assignment, like her ‘French Kiss’ wedding assignment which was featured in D Weddings.
What Darnell enjoys the most about her photography is the privilege of entering into the personal, intimate environments of her clients, to capture and create images that are both heartfelt and creative.
After completing a BA in Art History at SMU in 2004, she rediscovered her passion for photography through a study abroad program in the South of France. In addition to her travel, portrait and wedding photography, she now enjoys practicing her french with her two teenage sons, who are her most favorite subjects and her pride and joy.
