Dallas-based author Brenda West Cockerell will be at Logos Bookstore of Dallas in Snider Plaza Saturday, April 29, 2017, to hold a storytime and sign copies of her first children’s book from 1:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. Written in rhyming couplets with beautiful illustrations by Linda Ólafsdóttir, the book captures the creative imagination of a child and the contentment, peace and safety of being alone in a vibrant garden. This event is open to the public, and children of all ages are welcome.
The book serves as a tribute to former educator Holly Horton who passed away from breast cancer in 2009. One hundred percent of the net proceeds from the sale of In Grandma’s Garden will benefit breast cancer research, children’s cancer initiatives, educational scholarships and special needs of the community through the Beacon Family Foundation.
