DALLAS - April 6, 2017 - Killer Pecans recently received several honors, including “Best Overall Snack,” at the Fiery Food Challenge Awards, one of the food industry’s most prestigious award events, which was held recently in Irving, Texas.
“We’re always hearing our customers talk about how much they love Killer and Smokin’ Pecans,” said Killer Pecans Owner Katie Brown, “but being honored by these esteemed judges and industry veterans was extra special for us.”
In addition to “Best Overall Snack,” Killer and Smokin’ Pecans received second place in the “Salty Snack” category, and the Golden Chile Award for “Best Snack” in the nut category at this year’s event, which pitted hundreds of spicy treats from all over the county against one another in more than 90 categories. The awards were proudly displayed at ZestFest, a flavorful food event held the same week as the Fiery Food Challenge at the Irving Convention Center at Las Colinas.
“We started our company so we could share the joy these popular snacks brought to our friends and family with everyone,” added Brown. “It’s very fulfilling to see how many are now able to enjoy Killer and Smokin’ Pecans, and how much flavor these snacks bring to our customers lives.”
