Community organizations, corporate partners, donors, and volunteers continue to be the heart and soul of Rainbow Days, which is why each year, Rainbow Days is proud to recognize outstanding individuals and organizations who are committed to helping them fulfill their mission of helping children and youth in adversity build coping skills and resilience to create a positive future with the prestigious Promise Awards. The 26th Annual Promise Award Ceremony & Reception, presented by Rainbow Days took place at Café 43 in the George W. Bush Presidential Center located at 2943 SMU Boulevard, Dallas, Texas.
This year’s event is a most memorable one as Rainbow Days honored a group of outstanding recipients which include: Local Partnership: Cranium Kids; Outstanding Educator: Anita Cepeda / Richardson High School; Outstanding Educator: Jean Moore / Sheffield Intermediate; Nonprofit Partnership: Shared Housing; Corporate Partnership: Mi Cocina in Richardson; Corporate Partnership: Kendra Scott; Individual: T.C. Durant; Educational Partnership: Rosland McFadden; Foundation: Hillcrest Foundation; Rising Star: Ashley Marshall; Unsung Hero: Gary Gabriel; Individual Volunteers: Diane and Christian Oxley; Youth Volunteer: Clare Ni’Shuilleabhain; Statewide Partnership: The Texas Association of Substance Abuse Programs; Board Member: Dale Hurd, and Ripple Effect: Kristen Larkin.
“It is always an honor to recognize the commitment of individuals and organizations who have invested considerable resources into our organization,” shared Cathey Brown, Founder & CEO of Rainbow Days. “Through the generous support of these Promise Award recipients, children are learning valuable life skills, receiving emotional support from caring adult mentors and recieivng tangible items which is helping them have a brighter and promising future.”
Since 1992, Rainbow Days has honored exceptional individuals, corporations, and organizations. Last year’s volunteers gave over 5,100 hours in service to Rainbow Days! These hours have strengthened, supported and furthered our mission in countless ways. Rainbow Days’ wishes to express their deepest appreciation for their dedication.
To date, Rainbow Days has served more than 200,000 kids and teens in the community, and trained more than 52,000 professionals in 43 states (plus England and Ecuador), in facilitating life skills through support groups.

Liz Murray is a well-known author, speaker and is the recipient of the White House “Project’s Role Model Award” and Oprah Winfrey’s first ever “Chutzpah Award.”
