  to provide funding to improve the methods of treatment\, the search for a
  cure and prevention of kidney disease and other kindred or contributory d
 iseases\; and to develop more adequate provision for the care of persons s
 uffering from such diseases. \n Statistics: Debilitating kidney diseases i
 mpact approximately 20 million people in the United States today. Groups a
 t high risk include African Americans\, Hispanics\, senior citizens and pe
 ople with diabetes. In Texas\, there are over 30\,000 people on dialysis a
 nd 4\,000 on a transplant list. The number of patients on dialysis is anti
 cipated to double this decade. \n History: Since 1999\, the dedicated volu
 nteers of KidneyTexas\, Inc. have worked in tandem with our generous under
 writers to raise over $4.3 million for local efforts to improve the abilit
 y to diagnose and manage kidney disease.  \nEach fall KidneyTexas\, Inc. h
 osts its Luncheon & Fashion Show in an effort to raise money for designate
 d beneficiaries and awareness for a disease that affects millions of peopl
