DESCRIPTION:The Dallas Historical Society is thrilled to announce the Dalla
 s History Makers Awards for Excellence luncheon.  DHS is kicking off its s
 econd century with a new awards luncheon logo and name while continuing to
  honor its traditions and the Dallas History Makers of today and introduci
 ng a new awards category:  Dallas Historical Society’s Benefactor of the Y
 ear. \n  \nThe awards were established on behalf of the Trustees of the Da
 llas Historical Society in 1981.  Outstanding individuals and organization
 s are selected for this honor from nominations solicited from the Dallas c
 ommunity.  The recipients are chosen for their contribution to the quality
  of life in Dallas in multiple categories\, including: Arts Leadership\, C
 reative Arts\, Education\, History\, Humanities\, Philanthropy\, Sports Le
 adership\, and Volunteer Community Leadership. \nDaniel Murchison and Laur

 ouse\, a living example of history and crown-jewel of Swiss Avenue\, provi
 ding creative performance pieces and speaker series \n  \nJubilee History
  Maker - Michael Boone – Embodying community spirit and civic leadership t
 hat have made a positive impact on public education\, the arts\, and busin
 ess in Dallas \n  \nSports Leadership - Brad Sham – The voice of the legen
 dary Dallas Cowboys football team for over 40 years\, and beloved leader i
 n the Dallas and national sports scene \n  \nVolunteer Community Leadershi
 p - Tori Mannes – Long-time dedication to bettering the lives of families
  and the future generations of Dallas through education and leadership \nG
 uests mix and mingle prior to a three-course luncheon\, inspiring videos h
 onoring the award recipients sharing their often untold stories and highli
 ghting their contributions to Dallas\, and awards presentations. The event
  is topped off with the traditional A.C. Greene Champagne Toast. \n Underw
 riting/Sponsorships: Table sponsorships begin at $1\,500 up to $25\,000 wi
 th different levels of benefits.  Individual Sponsorship tickets begin at
  $600 and include one ticket to the Patron Party and preferred seating. A
  limited number of individual tickets will be available at $300 and $175.

  Year In 2022 \n  \nThe stories of Dallas are shared each day at the Dalla
 s Historical Society through the three million items that comprise our arc
 hives and artifact collections. Established in 1922\, the Dallas Historica
 l Society collects\, preserves\, and exhibits the unique heritage of Dalla
 s and Texas to educate and inspire future generations. \n  \nHoused at the
  Hall of State in Fair Park since 1938\, DHS presents these collections th
 rough education programs\, exhibitions\, tours\, access to research materi
 als and workshops.  \n  \nAmong the three million historical artifacts at
  DHS are such treasures as Sam Houston’s handwritten account of the Battle
  of San Jacinto\, the only known original Juneteenth document\, James Fann
 in’s watch\, and Santa Anna’s spurs. The DHS collection houses over 10\,00
 0 bound volumes and receives more than 1\,500 research requests annually.
  \n  \nEach year\, the Dallas Historical Society is visited by over 160\,0
 00 people and serves more than 20\,000 students through guided tours and e
 ducational programming at the Hall of State\, as well as outreach programs
