HIGHLAND PARK LIBRARY TO HOST SECOND SUMMER READING EVENT JUNE 29

The second event in Highland Park Library’s 2012 “Get a Clue…at the Library” children’s summer reading program will be a tracking dog demonstration on Friday, June 29 at 10:30 a.m. in Prather Park.  We'll watch award-winning tracking dog Cyan demonstrate his amazing canine sense of smell as he sniffs his way to locate a number of hidden objects, then learn from his owner and trainer Sandi Myers how tracking dogs are trained. In addition to his tracking talents, Cyan, a standard long-haired dachshund, is also a certified therapy dog, has appeared in catalog and television advertising, and earned 11 AKC titles. He loves children and will be available for handshakes and photo ops following the program.  If you have not yet registered for the summer reading program, you may do so at this event or at the Library from 9:30 to 5:30 Tuesday through Saturday.  For more information on summer events or our year-round weekly story times, call the Library at 214-559-9400 or click on the Calendar tab at www.hplibrary.info.
