A pedestrian who was struck by a vehicle on Hillcrest Avenue next to SMU's campus earlier today was transported to Baylor Hospital in serious condition with multiple trauma.

A 17-year-old female pedestrian was crossing against the traffic at about 12:40 p.m. on June 18 at the intersection of Hillcrest Avenue and Granada Avenue when she was hit, according to Steve Mace, the community information officer for the City of University Park.

"The driver of the vehicle was traveling southbound (on Hillcrest Avenue) and was not issued a citation," Mace said.
