Highland Park High School seniors in the class of 2012 and their families will get to hear former First Lady Laura Bush speak at a ceremony later this year.

Bush is serving as the keynote speaker at the HPHS baccalaureate ceremony on May 20 at Morton H. Meyerson Symphony Center, according to a news release from the school district.

"She was our first choice as a speaker all along, and once we learned she had agreed, we were so excited," said Carlton Adams, the HPHS senior class president, according to the news release.

A ticket is required to attend the event, and each member of the class of 2012 is invited and will get to bring three guests.

Highland Park High School's official graduation ceremony for the class of 2012 is being hosted on May 25.
