The Diary of Anne Frank is used as a primary resource for teaching about the Holocaust, so a book drive is being hosted by a Dallas museum to provide local students at cash-strapped schools with copies.

Through the Dallas Holocaust Museum's Anne Frank Initiative, copies of The Diary of Anne Frank are currently being collected and will be distributed this year for free to students who are 13 or older at schools that do not have the funds to purchase copies of the book.

"Ultimately, we hope the Anne Frank Initiative will refresh the reading and understanding of The Diary, enhance the overall education that we can provide to the community and highlight how fortunate we are in North Texas to have our own Holocaust Museum," said Maria MacMullin, the Museum's senior director of advancement.

Anyone who is interested in donating new or used copies of The Diary of Anne Frank can drop them off at any of the special collection bins at the following locations:
