After 37 years at the Episcopal School of Dallas, the founder and headmaster Stephen Swann has decided to resign from his position, according to reports.
Swann's recent announcement comes only several months after a jury ruled in a civil suit that ESD has to pay a former student's family $9.2 million for allegedly not protecting her from having a sexual relationship with a teacher and then making her transfer out of the school after the situation was unearthed.
Swann will reportedly fulfill his duties until a new headmaster is selected, but the process could take as long as two years for a candidate to be chosen to fill the position. After the new headmaster takes over, Swann will remain affiliated with the school by overseeing its endowment.
