The University Park Public Library is expected to open at its new home in The Plaza at Preston Center in November, according to this month's edition of the City of University Park newsletter titled The Arbor.
The library is relocating from its current spot in the Chase Bank building at the intersection of Hillcrest Avenue and Daniel Avenue to a new five-story office building that is currently under construction at the Preston Center.
The new library, which will be located on the second floor of the building at the Preston Center, will be 14,469 square feet in size and will have a Community Room for programming on the third floor and a lobby entrance, according to The Arbor. A self-checkout system and other "state-of-the-art technology" will be utilized at the new location as well.
The library is not the only tenant that is leaving the Chase Bank building. Actually, the Chase Bank will be moving down the street later this year once construction finishes on a new bank building that is being built at the former location of Blockbuster at Hillcrest Avenue and Haynie Avenue.
