The radically different experiences of a Japanese war bride and her more-Americanized daughter reveal the tensions in their relationship and bring to the surface long-buried secrets, especially when the daughter journeys to Japan and experiences life through her mother’s eyes.
(July 26) – The Submission, Amy Waldman
The winner of an anonymous competition to build an 9/11 memorial is revealed to be Muslim, prompting all concerned - jurors, family members, reporters, politicians, and the artist himself - to react in conflicting and conflicted ways."
The lecture begins at 11 a.m., and a lunch will follow at noon. The price is $45 per lecture for members and $65 per lecture for non-members.
