Highland Park Library will kick off its 2012 “Get a Clue…at the Library” Summer Reading Program in Prather Park on Friday, June 1 at 10:30 am. Attendees may register for the program then solve a series of mini-mysteries to collect puzzle-piece “clues” leading them to a sweet surprise solution. They will also receive their “Get a Clue…at the Library” detective-notebook reading log in which to record titles they investigate this summer. Each child returning a completed log will receive an official Texas Reading Club certificate and have a new hardbound book donated in his or her honor to the new Reconciliation Outreach Youth Center library. This facility will provide more than 1,000 at-risk children in the nearby Peak-Bryan neighborhood a safe place to read and learn after school and during the summer. Again this year, our summer book donation program is made possible by a generous gift from The Friends of the Highland Park Library. For more information on our summer events and weekly story times, call the Library at 214.559.9400 Tuesday through Saturday, or click on the Calendar tab at www.hplibrary.info.
