Five Day Spring Break Voice and Modeling Camp with Miss Texas at the Park Cities School of Music

When: March 3, 2012 - March 16, 2012 (Monday - Friday)
Time: Monday - Thursday 4:00PM -6:30PM
          Friday 2:00PM-7:00PM
          Includes a small concert starting at 6:00PM Friday
Cost: $300 12 students maximum
Where: 7979 Inwood Road, Suite #113

Early registration ends: February 15  (35%off)

The students will:
•    Work on a new song
•    Make an audition CD for Americas got Talent
•    Stage Presence
•    Mic Technique
•    Vocal technique
•    How to practice successfully
•    Goal setting
•    Artist Study - Study a famous recording artist
•    Beginning Theory
•    Beginning Ear Training
•    Basics of song writing and song form
•    Introduction to Modeling edict and artist styling
•    Introduction to Basic modeling and etiquette
•    Students will record a 1 song demo

Friday Concert will include:
•    A modeling presentation
•    Personal introduction (a speech students will write about themselves)
•    Song Performance

A special participation and growth AWARD will be presented at the end.

More Information
Ms. Shilah Phillips has a passion for singing and was strongly influenced by gospel music as a young child.  At three years old, Shilah first introduced the world to her spectacular singing abilities when she sang a solo to a church audience at the age of three. Since then she has wowed audience with her strong soprano and alto abilities. 

When she was still a teen, she moved to Los Angeles to pursue vocal study with celebrity vocal coach Ron Anderson.  Los Angeles is also where she recorded with Ron and Heather Hoffman, Danny Seraphine. Later, Shilah was a semi-finalist on American Idol. In 2006, Shilah Phillips made a history and was crowned the African American woman to region as Miss Texas in its 75 years history.  She went on to become the 1st runner up to Miss America 2007 and also gained a preliminary talent award and CMT’S viewer’s choice talent award.

She has an Associate of Arts from Collin County Community College and Bachelor’s degree in Jazz Studies from University of North Texas.  In 2009, Shilah appeared on MTV’s hit show “Made: Kyra Gray Episode” where she turned a street skater into a “Pageant Queen.” Ms. Phillips has since started her own company Pageant School 101 where she coaches young ladies in modeling and singing in preparation for pageant work. Currently, Shilah sings with “The Project Band” of Absolute Entertainment, a signature band, and her Jazz trio.
