Highland Park's varsity girls basketball team beat Carter in a round-two playoff game by a score of 49-33 on Friday night at Conrad High School.

Highland Park junior Kaitlyn Read led the Lady Scots in scoring with 17 points. She was followed by Libby Ethington with 11 points, Amanda Goodwin with eight points, Courtney Klingaman with seven points, Sydney McDaniel with three points, Alex Reynolds with two points and Savanna Taylor with one point.

The Lady Scots are moving on to the Region II quarterfinals of the playoffs where they will be taking on McKinney North for the fourth time this season.
