As a second generation orthodontist, following in his father’s footsteps, Dr. Cope began his informal education at the age of 13 by making retainers and grinding study models in his dad’s lab. By 15 he was helping his dad as an orthodontic chair-side assistant.
Dr. Cope later went on to Baylor College of Dentistry for his formal training. There after, he received his DDS in 1995, his orthodontic certificate in 1997, and his PhD in craniofacial bone biology in 1999. Dr. Cope is also an adjunct associate professor in the Department of Orthodontics at St. Louis University.
